Clinical Presentation

4/52 worsening low back pain, with radicular pains into the left lower limb. Numbness and some weakness of the foot.

  • 1Large L5/S1 left paracentral disc extrusion with cranial ascent to the level of the upper L5 vertebral body
  • 2The disc extrusion extends into the left lateral recess and left foraminal origin, impinging on both the exiting L5 and descending S1 nerve roots.The remaining levels are normal
  • 3L1 conus
  • 4Normal cauda equina.
